Before and after breast reduction and liposuction of the axillary rolls in a 27 year old woman. Her breasts were totally out of proportion to the rest of her body and she had significant asymmetry, with the right breast being over a cup size bigger than the left. She had thought about a breast reduction for over 15 years and was finally ready to take the plunge!
A reduction mammoplasty removed heavy, dense breast tissue and reshaped her remaining breast tissue to a youthful look and a nicer shape. Good connections were maintained between the nipple and the rest of the breast to preserve future breast feeding and erogenous sensation.
Follow up photos are shown at 3 months after surgery. She looks much more like a fit, active professional 27 year old and she has much better symmetry. She loves her new breasts and now can run with just ONE sports bra, she feels comfortable wearing tank tops and fitted shirts, and she is able to exercise freely.
She is doing scar therapy and understands that residual edema (swelling) in the armpit regions and the sides of the breasts will continue to resolve gradually over the first year.
