Before and after bilateral breast reduction and lift with liposuction of the axillary rolls in a 40-year-old woman. As part of her Mommy Makeover which also involved an abdominoplasty, umbilical hernia repair and liposuction, she wanted to reduce the size of her breasts and reshape them with a major lift.
Approximately a pound of breast tissue was removed from each breast. Her remaining breast tissue was reshaped using the auto-augmentation technique. This method permanently rearranges the breast parenchyma (breast tissue) internally to achieve an internal lift. Liposuction removed excess fat from her armpits and bra rolls, together with her abdomen, flanks and thighs during surgery.
We do not add other synthetic products inside the breast such as mesh – which is often marketed as an “internal bra.” Instead, we prefer to keep the breast tissue devoid of other products, with the exception of breast implants, which do not absorb or create additional scar, and which are completely reversible.
Follow up photos are shown 5 months after surgery, with maturing scars and a very pleasing aesthetic.
