Before and after breast reduction and correction of congenital breast asymmetry in a 26 year old woman. She had expected symptoms related to macromastia; additionally, her asymmetry prevented her from fitting bras and swim suit tops properly. She was planning her wedding and looked forward to starting a family – with more symmetric breasts!
A breast reduction removed excess breast tissue from the bottoms and sides of her breasts and evened out her breast volumes, creating better symmetry. Her breast tissue was rearranged as in a breast lift. Liposuction of her axillary rolls permanently removed fat from her armpit area.
Follow up photos are shown just six weeks after surgery. She is ready to begin scar therapy. Her left nipple, which was inverted before surgery, is still inverted. We don’t recommend inverted nipple correction in women who are planning to have children soon to best preserve the ability to breast feed.
