Before and after redo breast reduction and lift in a 60 year old woman. She had undergone a prior breast reduction 25 years before but had undergone menopause and found her breasts had increased in size again and developed asymmetry.
Her findings are likely from increased fat deposition in the breasts with age – after about age 30, the proportion of breast tissue decreases and the relative proportion of fat increases. Most women do not need a redo breast reduction with age, but it benefitted this patient!
A breast reduction removed much of her heavy bottom breast tissue and reshaped her remaining tissue to a smaller and shapelier form. Follow up photos are shown two years after surgery.
