Before and after breast reduction surgery in a 57 year old woman. She was overweight and found it difficult to exercise due to the extremely large size and droopy position of her breasts. She had thought about a breast reduction for years and her physician finally encouraged her to have surgery to help her chronic back pain.
A breast reduction removed a significant amount of heavy and pendulous breast tissue, reshaping her breasts to a smaller, perkier and more youthful shape.
Follow up photos are shown at 3 months after surgery. Note that her breasts now lie above the inframammary fold, compared to nearly all her breast tissue hanging below the fold before surgery. Her scars are pink and will continue to fade over the rest of the year.
