Before and after breast reduction in a 57 year old woman. 25 years previously, she had a breast reduction and found that after having children and menopause, her breast size had once again increased to where she was having symptoms of macromastia.
Needing to have a second breast reduction is in fact rare, but is always an option for women who would like to be smaller. Her breast reduction involved removing heavy tissue from the bottoms and the sides of her breasts, and reshaping her remaining breast tissue to a perkier shape with a size that remained proportional to her frame.
Follow up photos are shown 10 months after surgery. Her scars are still fading from pink to white, and she still has some swelling at the sides of her breasts from liposuction of the axillary rolls, the back fat/bra roll and her upper back. She has started to run again and only wears cute little bralettes instead of her former “military-style support bras”!
