Before and after bilateral breast revision involving explantation, capsulectomy and mastopexy in a 54-year-old woman with eighteen- year-old breast implants which were found to be ruptured on an MRI exam. She had an unsightly “Snoopy deformity” due to their high, submuscular position and normal descent of her native breast tissue over nearly two decades. Her animation deformity caused pain and tightness, preventing her from exercising without discomfort.

Her breast implants were removed through an incision in the fold of her breast. The pectoralis major muscles were separated from the undersurface of her breasts and returned to the chest wall, reconstructing their attachments to the ribs and sternum. The auto-augmentation technique of mastopexy was used to move her own breast tissue up higher on the chest wall and reshape her breasts into a smaller, rounder and more perky form.

Follow up photos are shown 9 months after surgery. Her scars are fading, and the breasts have assumed their final form. The final image shows an on-the-table comparison before and after breast implant removal and lift to demonstrate how impressive this procedure’s results can be!
