Before and after bilateral explantation and breast lift with liposuction of the axillary rolls in a 54-year-old woman. Her 30-year-old silicone breast implants had ruptured, causing them to feel hard and have associated deformity due to chronic capsular contracture. The incision around the lower part of her areola was indented, creating additional deformity.
She no longer wanted implants and was hoping for a more natural and perky, athletic-looking result. Her breast revision involved removal of the implants and their entire surrounding capsules – this is called a total capsulectomy.
Her breast tissue was lifted and reshaped, moving it into a pocket on top of the muscle. This is called an “auto-augmentation” mastopexy. Liposuction removed excess fat from her armpit region.
Follow up photos are shown a year and a half after surgery. Her scars are mature, and she is loving her final results!
