Before and after bilateral breast augmentation in a 35-year-old woman. Her breasts had deflated after having her four children. She was very muscular and felt like her “pecs” protruded further than her breasts. Her goals were for her breasts to be significantly fuller but to have a natural upper pole, normal droop and a “pretty under-boob.”
Smooth round silicone gel breast implants were placed on top of the muscle, in the subglandular position. Because she had drains placed, she did not have to wait for her body to absorb wound fluid that is always produced after surgery.
“Drains are your friends,” they decrease the risk of complications such as seroma formation (fluid accumulation around the implant), infection and capsular contracture, and they help speed up surgical recovery.
Follow up photos are shown 1 month after surgery. She loves her results!
