Before and after bilateral breast augmentation in a 45-year-old woman. She had lost the majority of her upper pole fullness after pregnancies and breastfeeding, and wanted a “mid-life makeover,” but for her breasts to still look natural. She was offered liposuction in the armpit region, but she declined.
Her friends had all “had their boobs done” with implants under the muscle, but this patient disliked the wide space between their breasts and the abnormal looking cleavage, the fact that the implants sat up so high, and that they were told to stop exercising (!!).
Smooth round silicone gel breast implants were placed on top of the muscle, in the subglandular position. After surgery, she took one week off work and three weeks off exercise.
Follow up photos are shown 7 weeks after surgery, with natural looking results – and none of the sequelae or consequences of implants placed under the muscle!
