Before and after breast augmentation in a 67 year old woman. She had lost a significant amount of weight through major lifestyle changes, and with the weight loss, so went her breast volume. She shared that she never would have considered Plastic Surgery before, but she missed her breasts!
She was looking to have “even nicer cleavage than before”. We discussed the option of a lift of her nipples at the same time (called a mastopexy-augmentation), but she did not mind that her nipples were a little lower than previously in her youth.
Smooth round silicone gel breast implants were placed on top of the muscle, in the subglandular position. Follow up photos are shown 3 months after surgery. There is no age limit for a breast augmentation – as long as patients are healthy and fit enough to have a quick general anesthetic and a 3-week physical recovery, it is appropriate to consider surgery.
