Before and after umbilicoplasty in a 60 year old woman. A previous tummy tuck had left her with a constricted, small belly button that she found difficult to clean.
She also had excess fat around her navel, as her surgeon did not believe in performing liposuction as the same time as a tummy tuck (!?). We believe liposuction is a vital component of most body contouring procedures, especially for abdominoplasties.
An umbilicoplasty opened up her belly button and created a more normal appearing navel. Liposuction smoothed out her belly contour. Follow up photos are shown 3 months after surgery. Her belly button scar is maturing and will continue to fade with time.
