Before and after umbilicoplasty in a 46 year old mother of three. She was planning an in-office correction of her nipples and earlobes and was excited to learn she could also improve the appearance of her belly button at the same time!
Local anesthesia was injected to numb the area. Surrounding stretch marks were removed in addition to excess fat by direct excision. Her navel was inset to look more open and round.
Early follow up photos are shown 3 months after surgery. She is applying scar gel and massaging the scar, as instructed in her scar therapy follow up visit. At one year postoperatively, her scar should be faded and flat and residual surrounding swelling will go away.
