Before and after medial thigh lift in a 44-year-old woman following significant weight loss. She had already had other body contouring procedures including a brachioplasty, mastopexy and abdominoplasty. Improving the contour of her inner thighs was the last procedure planned in her weight loss journey.
Excess skin and fat were removed from her upper inner thighs to improve their contour. Her inner thigh drains were in place for two weeks after surgery to remove wound fluid as it was produced during healing. After surgery, she wore compression garments under her clothes for three months.
Follow up photos are shown 8 months after surgery. Her scars are visible in some views but are fading. Her thigh contour will improve further with muscle-building through regular lunges, squats and other muscle-building exercises.
Following massive weight loss, patients are willing to trade permanent scars for an improved body contour – we wish we could offer surgery without scars, but Plastic Surgeons are surgeons, not magicians. ;)
