Before and after liposuction of the abdomen in a 51 year old woman. Together with her breast revision surgery, she wanted to improve the appearance of her abdomen, which had previously been her best feature. She had previous liposuction elsewhere that left her with an uneven abdominal contour and residual lumpy fat.
Revision liposuction can help improve the contour of areas that have been treated in the past. The key is targeting the prominent areas and leaving any contour depressions alone.
In this case, liposuction removed fat from the deep subcutaneous layer in an outpatient procedure performed in the operating room. The “hills were brought down to meet the valleys”.
Follow up photos are shown at 4 months after surgery. her results were dramatic, mostly to her (which is what Plastic Surgery is about anyway!).
She has an improved abdominal contour and only small areas of residual swelling. These areas will continue to soften and reabsorb fluid over the next several months.
