Before and after liposuction of the abdomen and flanks with scar revisions of the abdomen in a 48-year-old woman who had prior invasive abdominal surgery earlier in her lift that left her with several indented, unsightly scars. At the same time as a breast procedure, she wanted to improve the appearance of her abdomen.
Liposuction removed over a liter of fat from her upper and lower abdomen, pubic region and flanks from the front to help flatten out her abdominal contour. The majority of the improvement resulted from abdominal scar revisions, which removed the old constricting scar tissue and reunited each layer of the abdominal wall with its partner across the wound, from the deepest layer to the surface layer of the abdomen.
Follow up photos are shown 9 months after surgery, with maturing scars and a vastly improved abdomen contour.
