Before and after liposuction of the abdomen and flanks in a 46-year-old mother of three. As part of her Mommy Makeover, she wanted to improve the contour of her belly region.
She had a small amount of rectus diastasis (separation of the rectus abdominis muscles that often occurs after pregnancy) but had minimal excess skin, so she really did not need a full abdominoplasty (tummy tuck).
Liposuction was done as an outpatient procedure together with a breast reduction and liposuction of her axillary rolls (armpit fat, bra rolls) and liposuction of the neck. After surgery, she wore a compression garment called an abdominal binder and then transitioned to tight high-waisted yoga pants or shapewear under her clothes for three months.
Follow up photos are shown one year after surgery. She is motivated to stay fit now that her belly has such a nice contour!
