Before and after post-weight loss brachioplasty and liposuction of the arms in a 34-year-old woman who lost over 150 pounds following sleeve gastrectomy. Her weight loss had helped her lose fat but resulted in loose, hanging upper arm skin that she felt looked like wings.
A brachioplasty (arm lift) removed excess skin and fat from her upper arms. Liposuction removed additional fat from her arms, armpits and elbow region. After surgery, she wore compression sleeves under her clothes as much as possible to assist with swelling resolution.
The last image shows the actual tissue removed during her brachioplasty. Follow up photos are shown 6 months after surgery. Her scars are maturing, and she feels so much more comfortable wearing short sleeved shirts!
