Before and after a tummy tuck as part of a Mommy Makeover in this 45 year old mother of four. She was at her normal low body weight, but she had loose abdominal skin and separation of her abdominal muscles that contributed to a bulging abdominal contour and discomfort when she exercised.
An abdominoplasty removed much of her loose skin and crepe-like stretch marks; it repaired her “rectus diastasis” back together in the midline, and redraped her abdominal skin tightly downward. Liposuction removed excess fat in her upper inner thigh region and upper abdomen.
Follow up photos are shown one year after surgery. Her abdominal scars are mature and she has nearly regained full sensation of her abdominal wall. Sensory nerves recover at around one inch per month. Since she has a very long torso (over 18 inches high), we expect it will take at least a year and half or longer for full sensation to return. She loves her flat belly again and she feels like the fit, vital Mom and wife she really is! Exercise is no longer painful and she is so happy she did it.
