Before and after mini-abdominoplasty and liposuction of the abdomen, flanks and pubic in a 51 year old woman. She had only had a single pregnancy and had minimal separation of her abdominal muscles (rectus diastasis). Most of her issue was excess lower abdominal skin and fat. Her C-section scar was indented and was contributing to her “shelf” of fat overhanging her scar.
A mini-abdominoplasty removed over a kilogram (2.2 pounds) of excess skin and fat from her lower abdomen. Her old C-section scar was reopened and slightly lengthened to remove this tissue. Her muscles were left alone, as they did not require repair.
Liposuction removed excess stubborn fat from her upper and lower abdomen, flanks, pubic region and upper inner thighs. Follow up photos are shown 5 months after surgery. Her scars are maturing nicely and she is actively doing scar therapy.
She resumed exercise at 6 weeks and is very pleased to learn she still has some swelling that will continue to gradually resolve by one year.
