Before and after abdominoplasty with repair of rectus diastasis and liposuction of the abdomen, flanks and pubis in a 38-year-old mother. Her abdomen had lost all its muscular tone after having children. Her belly button had become an “outie” due to rectus abdominis muscle separation.
A tummy tuck removed excess lower abdominal skin and fat, repaired her muscles back together in the midline (and in turn made her belly button an “innie” again), corrected her abdominal bulge, and pulled her tummy skin downward, replacing her old C-section scar with a new longer incision.
Liposuction removed excess fat from her upper and lower abdomen, pubic region and flanks. Follow up photos are shown 3 months after surgery.
