Before and after abdominoplasty and liposuction of the abdomen, flanks, inner and outer thighs in a 41-year-old mother. Pregnancy had changed her body. She was still very active and physically fit, but her belly did not reflect this. Rectus diastasis (separation of the rectus abdominis muscles) caused protrusion of her abdomen as if she was bloated – even when she woke up in the morning.
An abdominoplasty removed excess lower abdominal skin and fat. Her abdominal muscles were repaired together in the midline via rectus fascial plication. Liposuction removed excess unwanted fat from her upper and lower abdomen, flanks, pubic region, upper inner thighs, and her outer thighs – called the “saddlebag region”.
Follow up photos are shown 2 years after surgery. Her scars are still fading and she feels like herself again. She finds exercising easier and wearing yoga pants comfortable. She loves her Mommy Makeover and feels it was very worth it!
