Before and after abdominoplasty in a 36 year old mother of twins and a “singleton” after that. She had a “shelf” above her C-section scar that is very common after having children, as GYN surgeons do not usually repair all the layers of the abdominal wall – as Plastic Surgeons always do.
She wanted to repair the separation of her abdominal muscles and to get her strong core back so that exercise did not feel uncomfortable and her body could work to the best of its ability.
An abdominoplasty corrected her muscle separation, known as “rectus diastasis”. Excess lower abdominal skin was trimmed and she was given a smoother abdominal wall, tighter belly and stronger core.
