Social Media and Plastic Surgery: ASPS Members Facebook LIVE Webinar
It was an honor to be asked by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) this summer to speak about social media use by Plastic Surgeons.
In this Facebook Live event, I specifically spoke about the importance of VIDEO in communicating with the public, future, present and past patients, and other colleagues. Specifically,
VIDEO is no longer “the future”. Video IS THE PRESENT. Video is how communication and stories are shared by our patients, our kids, colleagues, ourselves…

Although sometimes we err, as we are human. It is funny to watch this video now – I didn’t realize that the sound was working on my videos so I was talking over them as if the viewers couldn’t hear the sound. (Duh!)
This Friday, in Chicago, I will be speaking at the ASPS special HOT TOPICS half day special program about how Instagram Stories and Facebook Stories are surpassing Snapchat in terms of their relevance and importance in my profession.
Stay tuned for updates about this topic, and follow me on Instagram and Facebook to see and watch LIVE posts from the upcoming Plastic Surgery THE Meeting (#PSTM18) conference in Chicago. You can bet I’ll be VERY active on social media and posting regularly on Instagram and Facebook, which will automatically go to Twitter.
At PSTM18 I’m giving three talks about social media, aesthetic breast surgery and psychological issues patients can expect when considering Plastic Surgery!
