Dr. Karen Horton Reveals the 5 Best Cosmetic Procedures (and 2 Worst!) on The Holistic Plastic Surgery Show
Dr. Karen Horton had a recent guest spot on the Holistic Plastic Surgery Show, a podcast hosted by Dr. Anthony Youn that explores health and wellness with doctors and other health and beauty experts. In this lively and informative episode, Dr. Horton talks about how her practice has changed as societal perceptions of cosmetic surgery have evolved. She also reveals her favorite procedures along with two procedures that she never recommends.
What Are Dr. Horton’s Top 5 Cosmetic Procedures?
Dr. Horton has always been a champion of women’s health and she is deeply committed to helping mothers look and feel great. So, it is no surprise that one of her favorite plastic surgeries to perform is a tummy tuck with abdominal repair. After pregnancy, many women experience a separation of their abdominal muscles. This condition is called diastasis recti and it causes the abdomen to protrude; no amount of exercise can correct the tummy pooch caused by this, but Dr. Horton is highly experienced in correcting diastasis recti and helping patients regain a flat, toned stomach.
Not all of Dr. Horton’s favorite procedures are surgical, and one of her recommendations is not even a procedure at all! (Hint: never skimp on sunscreen!)

Which Cosmetic Procedures Should You Avoid?
Dr. Horton also chats with Dr. Youn on which procedures she does not typically recommend. These are both increasingly common procedures that have gained popularity thanks to social media. Listen to the podcast to find out which buttock enhancing procedure has a dangerous safety profile despite being touted as minimally invasive.
