Giving back to the Bay Area community has always been important to Dr. Karen Horton and she seeks to support charitable organizations that align with her professional mission to educate, inform and empower women. Dr. Horton recently wrote an article for Marin Magazine to highlight the fantastic work of the Sparkle Foundation, which lends a hand to single moms and children who find themselves up against difficult circumstances.

The Sparkle Foundation is a 100% volunteer-run 501c3 non-profit organization that was founded by Samantha Tradelius. Their overall mission of “women helping women” resonates deeply with Dr. Horton. She and the other Sparkle Supporters go beyond making donations to involve their whole family in giving back.

In addition to bringing her own sparkle by sponsoring the Night To SPARKLE fundraiser, Dr. Horton and her twin daughters have spent time together wrapping holiday gifts for Sparkle beneficiaries and their children. The women of Sparkle believe in making a difference and teaching their children to do the same.
