Dr. Horton’s Breast Augmentation Journey Part IV – Taking the Plunge
I took this selfie the morning of my trip to Nashville and captioned it “What am I thinking?” The responses were cute. Little did anyone know I was thinking how my body would look in this tank top after my surgery…
I was excited. Not nervous at all – especially about having general anesthesia, as I feel extremely comfortable and safe in the hands of a Board Certified Anesthesiologist. I thought about what music I wanted to listen to in the O.R. before I went to sleep (as I ask all my patients to request), and Rufus du Sol was my choice!
Mary and I took a ton of selfies in the airport, on the plane (WOO HOO!) and I laughed when I realized my compression socks featured viruses and bacteria. Not that I was worried about postop infection, but it was ironic I chose to wear these ones on the plane! Ha.
We arrived on a Wednesday night, checked in and walked around the fun honky tonk area of Broadway. One night as a tourist in Nashville! The country music bands were great, and I actually enjoyed country music!
The next morning we met with a video team from the breast implant company I had selected for my surgery, and recorded discussions between Mary and I about breast augmentation. How to choose your surgeon (Board Certification in Plastic Surgery, extensive experience in breast augmentation, and most importantly – they must be a good match in personal aesthetics!).
We also discussed why silicone breast implants are preferred in my practice and for my own body, and how to achieve a natural and proportional breast augmentation result.
It was fun to get glam hair and makeup for this! Of course we both wore our favorite Collective Hearts necklaces. Next, we visited Pure Barre The Gulch for my last barre class for a little while. I find a Pure Barre studio in every city I visit when I attend conferences – it’s my favorite workout hands-down, having done over 1000 classes!
Our next stop was Dr. Haws’ office for my preoperative visit… I was curious to see how they did things and to be a patient, myself!
